Unit 1 - Understand the concept of ratios and learn to describe proportional relationships between two or more quantities.
Unit 2 - Determine the relationship between ratios and proportions, understand the meaning of a percentage, and represent proportional relationships using percentages.
Unit 3 - Learn how to do division with fractions, devise equations from fraction word problems, and develop fluency with fraction operations when solving proportional relationships.
Unit 4 - Develop fluency with dividing multi-digit numbers using long division.
Unit 5 - Learn to do addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with multi-digit decimal numbers.
Unit 6 - Learn to find the greatest common factor for any two numbers less than 100, as well as the least common multiple of any two numbers less than or equal to 12.
Unit 7 - Develop an understanding of the meanings of positive and negative numbers, the difference between irrational and rational numbers, and how to order rational numbers from least to greatest.
Unit 8 - Be able to write expressions and equations based on a given situation, evaluate expressions for a specific variable, solve equivalent equations, and show the relationship between dependent and independent variables.
Unit 9 - Develop fluency in finding the area of right triangles and special quadrilaterals, decompose polygons to find areas, learn the formulas for the volume of 3-dimensional figures, and draw polygons in the coordinate plane.
Unit 10 - Learn to represent three-dimensional figures using nets, and be able to determine a 3-dimensional figure by looking at its net.
Unit 11 - Develop an understanding of data sets, variability, how to collect data, and how to represent data on a number and line plot.
