Grade 1 School Support Help
Grade 1 School Support at Prepaze Academy gives your child daily after-school homework help — we meet every weekday (Monday–Friday) to work through that day's actual assignments, reinforce tricky concepts, and build strong study and organization habits. This is homework support, not full-syllabus coverage: your child finishes their work with a teacher's guidance and never falls behind. All materials & Unik LMS access included.

What we cover
The full Grade 1 School Support syllabus, taught in order and revisited until it sticks.
- ✓Daily homework support
Your child works on their own assignments, from their own teacher, with help on hand the moment they get stuck — so homework stops being a nightly argument.
- ✓Study & organization skills
Planners, folders, breaking a long assignment into days. The habits that decide whether a capable student hands work in on time.
- ✓Test & quiz preparation
We work backwards from the school's test calendar: review sheets, practice problems, and a plan for the week before, not the night before.
- ✓Concept re-teaching
When the gap is from last month or last year, we go back and re-teach it properly rather than pushing through the current chapter.
- ✓Progress tracking on Unik
Every session is logged on the Unik platform, so you can see what was covered, what was mastered, and what still needs work.
What your child gets
Your child's own assignments
We work from the homework their teacher actually set, so the help lands on the grade that counts rather than on a parallel worksheet.
As often as you need
Once a week, twice a week, or every weekday — the frequency is yours to choose and change as the term gets busier.
Small synchronized cohorts
Classes are small and move together, so a teacher can see who is lost. A student who needs a second explanation gets one in the room, not at home that night.
Unik practice between classes
Every course includes the Unik platform for practice between sessions, so the work continues in the six days you aren't in class.
Progress you can see
Sessions and practice are tracked, so you know what was covered and what still needs work — rather than finding out at the next report card.
Small group or 1:1?
They solve different problems, and plenty of families use both.
Small-group class
A set weekly schedule, a cohort moving through the full syllabus together, and the discussion that comes from working alongside other students at the same level. This is the main programme for most families.
1:1 private tutoring
Hours bought as a pack and scheduled around your student, with the whole session spent on exactly what they need — a topic they missed, an upcoming exam, or a subject moving faster than the class.
Inside the class
How a Grade 1 School Support Help session actually runs, from the teacher who runs it.
- 1
Students bring what is actually due
The session opens with the assignment, quiz or project in front of them, so the work supports the grade their school is recording.
- 2
The gap gets taught, not just the answer
Where a question exposes a missing fundamental, the teacher stops and re-teaches it — otherwise the same question returns next week in a new form.
- 3
They finish the work themselves
The teacher steps back once the method is clear, so the student leaves having done it rather than having watched it done.
- 4
Practice to close the gap
Targeted practice is assigned on Unik for anything that needed re-teaching, and checked at the next session.

Grade 1 School Support — questions parents ask
How are Grade 1 School Support classes taught?
1-hour sessions · once, twice, or every day. Works from your child's own assignments · Unik LMS access included. Classes are small synchronized cohorts, so the group moves through the full syllabus together while pacing stays matched to each student's level.
Where can my child take Grade 1 School Support?
In person at our Apex, NC; Morrisville, NC; and Dublin, CA centers, or live online from anywhere in the United States. Online classes use the same curriculum, the same small-group format and the same Unik platform.
Is Grade 1 School Support aligned to my child's school curriculum?
Yes. In North Carolina we follow NC state standards; in Dublin, California we follow the California Integrated Math pathway. Online students are taught the standards for their own state.
Should we choose a small-group class or 1:1 tutoring?
A small-group class is the right fit for keeping pace with school across a term. 1:1 private tutoring suits a specific gap or a deadline, since the whole hour goes on exactly what that student needs. Families often use both.
What if my child is behind, or ahead?
Both are normal and both are planned for. We re-teach missing fundamentals rather than pushing past them, and students who are ready move through material faster instead of waiting for the group.
