The full AP Chemistry syllabus, taught in order and revisited until it sticks.
- ✓Atomic structure & bonding
Electron configuration, periodic trends, and reading photoelectron spectroscopy data. Explanations on this exam have to rest on Coulombic attraction and shielding; answering only that an element sits lower in a group earns nothing.
- ✓Thermodynamics
Enthalpy, entropy, and Gibbs free energy, including why a reaction can be favorable at one temperature and not another. Questions here ask for the reasoning behind a sign, not only its value.
- ✓Kinetics & equilibrium
Rate laws, reaction mechanisms, and equilibrium calculations using ICE tables and Le Châtelier reasoning. Comparing Q with K to predict which way a system shifts is a recurring exam task worth deliberate practice.
- ✓Acids & bases
Titration curves, pH calculations, and buffers — the unit where chemistry students most often stall. Graders want reasoning at the particle level, not just a number, so explanation gets as much attention as computation.
- ✓Electrochemistry & labs
Galvanic and electrolytic cells, cell potential, and the lab work that supports them. Laboratory questions ask students to justify a procedure and identify sources of error, which rewards understanding a setup rather than recalling it.

Small-group class
A set weekly schedule, a cohort moving through the full syllabus together, and the discussion that comes from working alongside other students at the same level. This is the main programme for most families.
1:1 private tutoring
Hours bought as a pack and scheduled around your student, with the whole session spent on exactly what they need — a topic they missed, an upcoming exam, or a subject moving faster than the class.

AP Chemistry — questions parents ask
How are AP Chemistry classes taught?
Two 60-minute classes each week. College-level textbook + Unik LMS included. Classes are small synchronized cohorts, so the group moves through the full syllabus together while pacing stays matched to each student's level.
Where can my child take AP Chemistry?
In person at our Apex, NC; Morrisville, NC; and Dublin, CA centers, or live online from anywhere in the United States. Online classes use the same curriculum, the same small-group format and the same Unik platform.
Is AP Chemistry aligned to my child's school curriculum?
Yes. In North Carolina we follow NC state standards; in Dublin, California we follow the California Integrated Math pathway. Online students are taught the standards for their own state.
Should we choose a small-group class or 1:1 tutoring?
A small-group class is the right fit for keeping pace with school across a term. 1:1 private tutoring suits a specific gap or a deadline, since the whole hour goes on exactly what that student needs. Families often use both.
What if my child is behind, or ahead?
Both are normal and both are planned for. We re-teach missing fundamentals rather than pushing past them, and students who are ready move through material faster instead of waiting for the group.
